Hydro-DENCO® High Capacity CRAH

Hydro-DENCO® Computer Room Air Handlers were specially developed for the performance and efficiency requirements of data centers. Due to the structure in 2 separate delivery units (heat exchanger and fan chamber), which can be stacked on top of each other on the construction site, a total height of 3.13 m can be achieved. The enormous space available in the 2.38 mm high upper delivery unit is used to the maximum by the diagonally arranged heat exchanger. This maximizes performance per footprint (kW/m²) and minimizes energy consumption for airflow caused by pressure losses. The heat exchangers design can be adapted to the specific requirements of the individual project. In this manner, the device can be operated with different chilled water temperature levels, e.g., from 14 °C inlet up to 20 °C inlet or even higher and a Delta T from 5 to e.g. 12 or more. Hydro-DENCO is designed for dry cooling, but for extra safety, all devices are equipped with a condensate tray. Water sensors are available as options. Operation is possible with water or water-glycol mixtures.

The CRAHs are suitable for operation without floor void, as the fan section is equipped with an all-round protection against intrusion. Various other outlets variants, e.g., double deflection grills, front or rear discharge are also available. Alternatively, Hydro-DENCO can also be utilized for applications with a floor void. In this application, the fan section remains below the false floor and serves as a base stand for the heat exchanger section. The air intake can be configured as free inlet, with protection grille, with a damper or with a flange for duct connections.

Hydro-DENCO® is designed to save installation times. The control valve is fitted inside the casing, all electrical cabling is factory installed. The electrical connections between heat exchangers and fan chambers are prepared as plug connections. The switch cabinet is located behind one of the front doors. The devices allow several customer cable entry positions including a cable entry frame.

Hydro-DENCO® represents a particularly flexible and future-proof system, since a connection to a wide variety of cooling systems is possible via the chilled water circuit. As a system solution, FläktGroup offers suitable chillers for indoor (FGWC/GLWC) or outdoor installation (FGAC), as well as chillers with an integrated free cooling function (FGFC/GLFC) or dry coolers for free-cooling only. Furthermore, heat recovery can be realized with the help of FläktGroup Heat pumps, so that the waste heat from the cooling process can be used as heating source for heating side rooms or feeding into district heating systems.
