Chilled Water Multi-DENCO®

Multi-DENCO® close control units as chilled water version represents a particularly flexible and future-proof system, since a connection to a wide variety of cooling systems is possible via the chilled water circuit. As a system solution, FläktGroup offers suitable chillers for indoor (FGWC/GLWC) or outdoor installation (FGAC), as well as chillers with an integrated free cooling function (FGFC/GLFC). Furthermore, heat recovery can be realised with the help of 4-pipe heat pumps HeaMo (FGAS), so that the waste heat from the cooling process can be used as heating energy for space heating free of charge.

A major advantage is that no refrigerant is used in the installation room since the energy is transported solely via the chilled water circuit. This means that the choice of refrigerant and the refrigerant charge depends solely on the independent refrigeration system, which is usually installed outside. In addition, chillers and Multi-DENCO® close control units of the C-version can be replaced independently of one another as part of retrofit measures.

Two variants are available:

• C-Version: Chilled Water with Standard or High-Performance Heat Exchanger (4 or 6 rows)

The units are available with 3-way, 2-way or pressure-independent 2-way valves for the chilled water circuit.

• C-Version + CombiCool: Dual Chilled Water Circuits

With this system 1 indoor unit can be connected to 2 chilled water sources. The primary circuit is typically receiving chilled water (CW) from a chiller, but it can also be used in conjunction with dry coolers or similar heat reject systems for lower cost cooling or free cooling. The backup circuit is then connected to a chiller for reliability and redundancy. Either during maintenance or an unexpected fault of the primary circuit, the Multi-DENCO® unit can independently and autonomously change to the backup circuit to ensure operations can continue seamlessly. As soon as possible, the device controller automatically switches back to the primary circuit. 3-way valves are used.
